Jonathan is well known in the Canadian investment community and brings more than 30 years of diverse financial and technical experience in the Canadian and International mining industry.
As the President of Metaform Investments Inc. and Chairman of Dundee Precious Metals Inc., Mr. Goodman acted as DPM’s President and CEO from 1995 to 2013.
Mr. Goodman joined Goodman & Company, Investment Counsel Ltd. in 1990, where he was responsible for the selection of Canadian equities and played a major role in developing asset allocation strategies, before becoming the company’s President. He is also a founder of Goepel Shields and Partners, an investment firm.
Mr. Goodman graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering and received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto. He is also a professional engineer, a Chartered Financial Analyst, and is a director of several publicly-traded resource companies.
President & CEO
Mr. Bureau is a professional engineer with over 25 years of leadership in project management, operating in Latin America countries, gained through notable projects including the mines of, Izcaycruz & Yauliyacu in Peru, Escondida Copper Mine and Altonorte in Chile, Pinos Altos in Mexico, Raglan Mine and the renowned Au-Rich VMS project La Ronde in Quebec, Canada. Mr. Bureau’s expertise includes working in cross-cultural situations within political and cultural nuances. Prior to joining Toachi, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Pershimco Resources for nine years and built it into a development stage mining company. In 2016, Mr. Bureau was instrumental in the merger of Pershimco Resources to Orla Mining.
Mr. Fazzini graduated from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management with a Bachelor of Commerce and followed up his education earning both the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations. Mr. Fazzini spent the first part of his career in PwC’s Toronto Audit practice as part of the Global and Metals & Mining group. Subsequent to his audit experience with PwC, Mr. Fazzini joined Dundee Capital Markets where he most recently served as Vice President, Senior Mining Analyst covering Precious Metals Equities. While at Dundee, he modeled, analyzed and advised global institutional investors as well as mining companies ranging from junior gold explorers to intermediate producers. Through his work as a publishing mining analyst, Mr. Fazzini brings deep relationships across the capital markets community as well as an in-depth background in financial statement analysis, project finance and investment valuation.
Laurie Curtis is one of Canada’s most respected economic geologists with more than 40 years of global mining experience. A geologist, entrepreneur, analyst and mine builder, Laurie has was the founder and first CEO of Intrepid Mines, building that company to a market capitalization of more than $1 billion.
Laurie completed graduate studies at the University of Toronto.
Independent Director, Chair of Compensation and Corporate Governance Committee
Mr. Nixon has more than 30 years of experience in the investment services industry in Canada and the United States, with a specialty in the natural resource sector and working primarily in research and institutional sales. He was also a founder of the investment firm Goepel Shields & Partners and was subsequently the President of the firm’s subsidiary in the United States. Mr. Nixon later joined Dundee Securities Corporation, with the mandate to expand the company’s activities in the United States. He is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Eberhard (“Ebe”) Scherkus
Independent Director, Chair of Environmental, Health, and Safety
Mr. Scherkus is one of Canada’s most respected mining executives having spent a career managing all aspects of mine development and operations in Canada and around the world.
He culminated a long and distinguished career of more than 27 years with Agnico Eagle Mines, serving as President and Chief Operating Officer and Director from 2005 to 2012, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer from 1998 to 2005, Vice-President, Operations from 1996 to 1998, Manager of Agnico Eagle LaRonde Division from 1986 to 1996 and Project Manager from 1985 to 1986.
Mr. Scherkus is a graduate of McGill University (B.Sc.), a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and past president of the Québec Mining Association.
Independent Director, Chair of Audit Committee
Carolina is the Managing Partner of Global Symmetry Group, a Toronto-based financial consultancy company.
She graduated with an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and with a B.Sc in Engineering from the University of Los Andes in Colombia. Carolina has more than 16 years of experience in the financial services sector with a focus on financial analysis with a number of Canadian investment banking firms. From 2009-2011, she was ranked as one of the top research analyst for the Clean Energy sector by Brendan Wood International.
